This one is my favorite song yet! Give it a listen or a download, and let me know what you think :)

It’s a bit repetitive (I should write a second verse) and mixed a little quietly (not sure why, or how to fix it), but I like it nonetheless.

(You can download most of the tunes I’ve been making over at box.net/mikesongs, and apparently you can even sign up to be a “collaborator” which means you’ll get emails when I post new stuff there.)

Here are the lyrics:

there is heat here
heat that stifles and
there is coldness
freezing our bones

there is dirt that
ruins our clothing and
there is a sea
that sweeps us away

there is a cliff face
that we might fall from
into a forest
of trees so tall

and if we did fall
they’d never find us
we’d never see our homes again / we’d die out here in the woods

SO run run run run run
back to your cities
run run run run run
back to your climate controlled
compartmentalized lifestyle
/
run back to your homes
run to comfort and safety
run as fast as you can / run away from the trees
